Wireless E-mail Services

Centennial offers e-mail solution with the feature functionality and the mobility needed, which even the smallest of business can easily afford.
Immediately following voice and possibly even before Internet access, electronic mail is the most heavily used business application supported by wireless technology. Smart-Phones and other high-end devices, and associated software products, have made it increasingly easier and more practical for mobile users to erase the boundary between working in the office or anywhere else, and organize their time more efficiently to optimize their productivity.

Our suite of Wireless E-Mail Services includes:
• Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES)
• Blackberry Internet Solution (BIS)
• Good Mobile Messaging
• ISP/Web-Mail

Features and Components
The Wireless E-Mail Services offered by Centennial share the common capability of accessing a mailbox from a wireless device, but deployment characteristics and associated feature functionality vary greatly among them.

Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) and Good Mobile Messaging offer real-time push capabilities for full synchronization of e-mail, calendar, tasks, notes and contacts. Both services are comprised of a user-license, which resides on the handheld device, and a license for a server housed at the customer premises. Even though Blackberry and Good are also available in hosted versions, infrastructure elements for these two are generally managed by the customer’s IT staff.

Blackberry alternate option, Blackberry Internet Solution (BIS), is more targeted at smaller and medium-size customers, in that the wireless access is provided via the Internet and the service does not require an on-premise server. Therefore, no server- or user-license fees apply. From a functional standpoint, BIS synchronizes e-mail mailboxes only.

Contrary to Blackberry, which provides its own line of proprietary handsets, Good Technology is supported on various Smart-Phones and Pocket PC’s.

Lastly, synchronization of ISP-based e-mail for wireless applications is also provided through Smart-Phones’ embedded e-mail client, in combination with a Centennial-provided wireless data package. It should be noted that, out of all Wireless E-Mail alternatives supported, this is probably the one with the least level of security, inherent to the characteristics of ISP-provided e-mail applications.

Benefits
Today’s Wireless E-Mail tools, particularly the options developed by Blackberry and Good Technology, are highly intuitive and user-friendly, which allows even non-technical users to immediately start enjoying their benefits of mobile productivity. Mobile workers and executives now have their full spectrum of office-related tools at their fingertips, at any time of the day or night and from virtually any location.

Centennial now also provides the Blackberry 8830 World-Phone which, combined with our Global Inter-Standard Roaming capabilities, supports users of CDMA as well as GSM voice- and data-networks worldwide.

How Does It Work?
Centennial’s suite of Wireless E-Mail products clearly caters to a broad array of customer requirements. Your Centennial Communications Consultant is at your disposal to help select the particular service that best fits the requirements of your organization.
